Introduction
This project, while far from comprehensive, gives an overview of how the CR-CPUSA and its ideology developed, its relationship to leader Jared Roark, an analysis of its organizational structure, identification of its leadership, and a timeline of defining moments in its history. Drawing on internal documents, news articles, web archives, and, most of all, the direct witness testimony of dozens of former members (including my own), this exposé should allow anyone grasp a basic understanding of the cult. Individual testimonies and further research can be found on the blog page.
“Defining terms” and “Leadership & Organization” sections are useful to read before diving into the timeline, especially if you are unfamiliar with Maoism or cultic studies, but feel free to dive right in.
